Experience:

Currently residing in Australia, at the University of Melbourne. In Dubai in December 2017 to Feb 2018, tutoring then. I have tutored children in groups before, focusing on reading, writing and maths skills. Given my experience as a school captain for four years, I find it easy to talk to younger people and give them guidance. My strengths are in English language and literature, psychology and history. Essay writing and IB exam preparation are also strong-points. I will tutor for all ages.

Approach:

I plan my lessons according to the individual needs of the student. Whether this be revising homework, content covered in class, or required knowledge prior to a test, I can accommodate. I don't like to teach the material to the student, but rather communicate with them in such a way that they understand and remember it, being able to apply it easily in the future should they have to. If required, I will formulate mini quizzes for the students to judge their stage of learning the content. I find this breaks up the usual tutoring sessions and the students come to enjoy being challenged in a friendly environment.
