Experience:

I have been teaching since 2007. In UAE, I am Grade Leader, Reading A-Z Coordinator and I teach cycle 3 English. I hold BA double honours in English and History, an MA in English Literature, a teaching qualification (PGDE) in English, History and CSPE, and an MSc. in Education & Training Management. I have experience in the following curriculum: ADEC cycle 3 English, British GCSE/A Levels, American Common Core, Irish Junior/Leaving Certificate and adult education courses.

Approach:

I am a facilitator of learning and in that regard, I aid my students to understand concepts and ideas through the medium of English language and literature. During the facilitation of their learning, I promote prior knowledge to allow learners to understand a key concept and to enhance their understanding of the world around us. I endeavour to utilise technology inside and outside the classroom to allow students to take ownership of their learning whilst at the same time allowing me to build a rapport with young learners. In accordance with learning outcomes requirements and 21st century skills for students to master throughout their studies, I design lesson plans to meet the needs of learners (reading, writing, speaking & listening) strengths and weaknesses. I scaffold and repeat material as necessary to ensure students can grasp the content in full and to allow for mastery to be achieved.
