Experience:

I have worked on film crews and in TV studios before re-training as a teacher. I have completed BA Hons in Media and communications and a PGCE in Secondary and post 16 education. I am currently in my 8th year as a teacher of Media, Film Studies and Photography and have been head of media studies for 2 years. I have experience teaching AQA and Edexcel syllabus. I still work on media projects outside of education and use real projects as examples when teaching students about the subject.

Approach:

Open structure which is easily adapted to learning needs and flexible. Open and close structure where students use what they have learnt to exit a session. Access to exam board material, past papers and course structures. My aim in teaching is to teach the students how to enjoy the subjects so that learning happens naturally. Using up to date examples and experience it is possible to find material that appeals to all students, enabling them to engage and understand without having struggle.
