Qualification:

Bachelor or Arts, Graduate Diploma of Education and an Masters of Education in EFL.

Experience:

Although the majority of my experience has been in teaching English to speakers of other languages at the tertiary level, I also have over 5 years experience of private teaching in both Australia and Japan. I offer a student-centered, communicative approach where a learner can acquire the language in a natural way. A combination of approaches from fun language drills to higher order language acquisition tasks will be used to develop language ability.

Approach:

Lessons are planned around the specific needs of the learner, in the first lesson a full language diagnosis will show me the areas where the learner needs to focus in order to start to show real progress. These areas will be broken down and then re-constructed so that old habits which may be hindering learning can be replaced with new and more beneficial learning. Lesson materials will be kept relevant and upbeat, so that the learner is more motivated to learn and becomes excited about their personal progress.
