Masters Psychology, PGCE Primary Education, First Class Honours BSC Sport and Exercise Science

Experience:

I am a fully qualified Primary School Teacher with 4 years of teaching experience within the British Curriculum across a range of Primary years. Prior to achieving my qualified teacher status, I studied a Masters in Psychology, with an interest in child cognitive and emotional development. Within my school, I am a subject leader in Enterprise and Innovation, which has allowed me the opportunity to experience new and exciting practices that are being taught in schools worldwide.

Approach:

Initially, I will do an elicitation of what the child knows in a subject or subject area. This will ensure they make progress, whether they need a bit more support in or a greater challenge in the subject. Then I will plan a series of interactive and engaging activities, which will provide the child with an opportunity to learn meaningfully. This deeper understanding means the children will remember their learning for the long term rather than just recalling it in the short term.
