Bachelor in Education and an Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management

Experience:

I am a certified Grade 4 - 9 teacher of English and History, with minors in history, social studies, natural science, life skills and guidance and Afrikaans. I have taught Business Communication, devised assessments and resources for English Grades 8 - 12. I have now progressed to teaching EFL as well. I have tutored these past years including at a Saturday School.

Approach:

My tutoring approach encompasses a determination to build the learner from a comfortable foundation to a more confident understanding of the subject. I usually aim at the learners being enriched on all levels, both inwardly and towards the subject. My strategies entail using their strengths to help them to better understand the material, a learner centered approached, with an emphasis on critical thinking where necessary.
