Experience:

I have been teaching English for 11 years. I have a Master's in Education & an international certification in English as a foreign language. Teaching is my passion and I believe that you learn best when you are actively engaged & can make personal, authentic connections to the material. My aim as a tutor is to help build and strengthen those connections so that the lessons are fun and the information is memorable. My students have all shown consistent progress in reading, vocabulary & writing.

Approach:

I plan fun, creative lessons tailored to meet the needs of each individual student. My lessons are hands-on and engaging; I use a blend of technology, manipulatives and other resources to reinforce the ideas being taught. I make real-life connections with the subject(s) so students can see the ideas being used outside of a "classroom." I can help with homework, increase reading fluency and comprehension, develop vocabulary and language, enhance speaking and listening ability, and strengthen writing and editing skills. My main goal is to instill confidence in using the English language.
