Experience:

I am a From the UK and have been teaching for over 3 years now, 2 years in England and 1 year in Australia, teaching children aged 3-18 years old in school. I have 2 years tutoring experience working with children aged 4-14. I believe that all children can achieve if they are provided with enthusiastic teaching, enjoy their learning and are challenged appropriately to reach their full potential. I am a great believer in helping children to understand learning by making it exciting for them.

Approach:

I like to find out about what each child already knows; their academic strengths and weaknesses and build upon this to plan a structured and tailor-made scheme of work to meet their needs and help them to achieve and excel academically or in a specific/required area of learning. I like to make my teaching relevant to the child I am working with so they can take ownership of their learning and can relate it to their own lives. My lessons are exciting, innovative and help children to link their prior learning to new knowledge. I think it is important for children to express areas of learning that they also find difficult so they feel their thoughts are being listened to, then their ideas can be incorporated into tutoring sessions. This helps children to become independent and reflective learners. I like to use a variety of techniques to help motivate children and encourage independence and enthusiasm for learning. Using practical activities, indoor and outdoor learning, reading, text books, research and IT to help support learning.
