Experience:

I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a First Class Honours degree in Biological Sciences, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). I am also currently completing my dissertation for my Masters in Education. I have extensive knowledge of the UK curriculum, and have worked for them for 3 years in the UK as an examiner and marker. I therefore specialise in exam technique and writing skills. I have extensive private tutoring experience, with numerous success stories and very happy parents, and have worked with students of a range of abilities from the age of 10 - 18.

Approach:

I am extremely personable and friendly. My aim is to get to know all of my students extremely well, in order to identify their strengths and areas for development. My lessons are completely tailored to individual students - no two lessons are ever the same. I use diagnostic teaching methods for each topic to enable me to plan lessons that will interest students, whilst having maximum impact in terms of their progress. I always use real life examples, and creative techniques to enable students to understand scientific concepts rather than just learning them by heart - in order for them to apply their knowledge successfully in, what are now becoming, extremely challenging examinations. But most of all, my aim is for my students to enjoy our tutoring sessions, and to feel a sense of pride in what they have achieved.
