Experience:

I have graduated as a Kindergarten teacher. I have 6 years experience in the field of teaching. Apart from working as a teacher in a reputed school, I have also worked as a home tutor. I helped a dyslectic boy with his homework and I learned him how to study languages. In the following years, I worked in a special needs school where I gained a lot of new insights!

Approach:

I plan my lessons by following the curriculum, if there's a curriculum to follow. I make a weekly planning so I have something to hold on to. I always try to make my lessons interesting and challenging. If children get the opportunity to discover a lot by themselves, they will learn so much more then when they just sit and repeat after me. Of course, some lessons are being tutored in a classic way but there are more than enough opportunities to let hem do things by themselves. I also try to teach them social skills in different ways. E.g.: after school, I tutored a dyslexic boy who has a little brother, who's just started to read at that time. What I did was: I gave the big brother the opportunity to help his brother reading, so he felt responsible. At the same time, he had another chance to practice his reading in a relaxed way without pressure. I'm a teacher with a lot of energy and I always try my best to get the best out of the children. The most important thing we have to do is make sure the children feel loved and appreciated. Being negative never helped anyone getting somewhere. It's so important to show them what they can do and make them feel proud of themselves. I'm very strict when it comes to manners and social skills. I want the children to show respect for me by listening and being polite because that's what I show them too.
