Experience:

I tutored a Year 11 student and helped her with her GCSE coursework and prepared her for GCSE exams. She was studying the Cambridge IGCSE and was getting ready for both English language and literature. I also tutored a Year 6 student in Maths and English to get him prepared for his SATs. I have been teaching for 5 years and taught a range of age groups from Year 6-12 with a range of abilities. I am always successful in creating a good rapport with my students.

Approach:

In tutoring sessions I always ensure the student knows what they are going to be achieving and the steps taken to be successful. It is better when students are able to identify their areas of weakness so we can work together to improve and build in confidence. During sessions we will work together on a task or extract and later the student will practise these skills and/or complete this for homework.
