Experience:

I am a native Engish-speaking licensed/registered teacher with more than 10 years experience of teaching in an English-speaking country. I am a highly qualified educator, having been awarded a M.Ed. (First class Honours), PGDE (Distinction) and a B.Ed. My teaching involves strong content knowledge, instruction using a variety of modes (written, oral and visual), formal and informal assessment and a positive relationship with students based around genuine teacher empathy, patience, humour and an enthusiasm for learning.

Approach:

My lesson plans are based on an individual student's needs, which cater for their current learning and/or on those areas of learning where they may need continued support and development. Where applicable, my lessons involve a clear learning intention (WALT & WILF) and success criteria in order to provide clarity for students informing them of what they are learning and more importantly whether or not they have achieved these expectations at the end of the lesson. The pace of my teaching instruction is based on student's understanding, which is further enhanced by promoting maintenance of learning by revisiting previously learnt concepts. When students are completing learning activities, I provide enough support for them to complete tasks successfully until they have enough understanding to complete given tasks independently at which this point of support is withdrawn. When teaching, I support students' conceptual development by utilising a variety of everyday contexts to understand abstract (difficult) concepts and promote generalisations.
