PGCE Early Years (3-7 year olds) and LLB Law with Criminology.

Experience:

I have 8 years experience cross Reception to Year 2, teaching the National Curriculum. I am now Head of Year 1 in a 10 form entry school. A naturally creative person, I try to make my lessons as hands on and practical as possible; children need to do, to learn. Each child is an individual, and by making my lessons as fun as possible, each child can be helped to unlock their potential.

Approach:

After an initial assessment to help indicate areas of strength and weakness, and to gain insight into the child's learning style, I create a personal plan for the child, drawing on their likes and passions and delivering high class teaching, in a fun and creative way. Children are helped to develop independence and resilience, and when facing difficulties, are nurtured to have a go and try their best. Having high expectations develops children's self esteem and encourages them to aim for greatness.
