Bachelor of Arts and Theology ( English), Higher Diploma in Education, Masters in Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership, Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century

Experience:

iQualifications: BATH(English), HDIP in Education Masters in Education PD in Leadership PC in Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century. Taught English 14 yrs (2 yrs EAL), 12 yrs ( 12-18 year olds) Currently teaching English, MYP Yr 7,8,9,10 & DP, HL Yr 13 Tutored students for 10 years

Approach:

Firstly, I meet with students and their parents to discuss what outcomes they're hoping to achieve from tutoring. Next, I gave a diagnostic test to assess the ability of the student. Then, I plan a range of lessons to support their student in achieving their full academic potential in English. I will refer to the texts and curriculum that the student is using in their current school. I will show the student how to achieve their best, guide them in improving their own work and monitor the work that I set for each tutorial. I believe that 'practice makes perfect'. Thus I will thrive to ensure the student is prepared for tasks that are set and assessments that are arranged to the best of their ability. In order, for the tutor sessions to become a success the student must put in the effort and time to all work given.
