Qualification:

Master of Arts in Teaching w/ B.A. in social work

Experience:

8 yeas experience with child centered teaching. Experience creating curricula for prekindergarten and kindergarten aged children. Able to tailor experiences to the child's needs based on their learning style. I can tutor children from KG-grade 2 in Math,English, and Science using an American curriculum. I am able to tutor on some evenings and possibly weekends depending on the location.

Approach:

I would like to get to know your child first to build a relationship. If necessary, we could set up a reward system for accomplishing goals. Hands on experiences are important at the early stage and I have an array of materials to use to keep lessons engaging for your child. While paper and pencil may sometimes be necessary, it would be a very small part of our tutoring sessions. I am also able to help with your child's homework. I also believe that reading and talking about reading are very important and would begin or end each session with a book.
