Qualification:

BA(Hons) primary education and teaching with advanced studies of early years.

Experience:

I have been teaching of 9 years, 7 in England and 2 in Dubai. I have taught all of Key stage 1 and I am currently in Foundation stage. I have been an expert phonics teacher back in England where I would train and observe other teachers. I was externally moderated by the local authority back in England when I was in year 2 and Foundation stage. This is a valuable experience as it highlights that you are able to teach and get the children to the expected levels for the year group.

Approach:

I would first need to have a session where I would assess your childs abilities and where their gaps are. I like to make my tutoring sessions practical to keep your child engaged therefore making them eager to learn with me. Once your child has mastered the skills and techniques we would apply them in a more formal way whether this is writing or maths. I use a phonics scheme called Read Write Inc to help with the children reading swell as their reading.
