Experience:

As an undergraduate, I attended the University of Leeds, studying Mathematical Studies and became a qualified teacher the university of Durham in England. I have worked as a Math teacher from 2011 and have extensive knowledge of the British Curriculum and the exam procedures and preparations for all main exam boards. My exam knowledge of the curriculum is very good, having being an online assesor in previous years. In England, I was often tutoring pupils in preparation for the exams or throughout the school year. Having recently moved to Dubai to teach in an IB school, I have built up a vast wealth of teaching methods and resources to suit a learner's needs. The IB curriculum has allowed me in to improve my teaching and focus on the concepts behind the subject and the applications to real life, promoting life long learners.

Approach:

Maths is a subject which must be built on solid foundations and in order for pupils to achieve at a high level then they must have solid base of understanding. In my tuition, I will focus on any misconceptions that the learner has, then aim to progress their understanding in order to achieve and understand at a higher level. Once a solid base is established then the concepts of mathematics can be applied and used in real life situation, providing relevance for the learner. This process will be accompained by a wide range of resources and methods of teaching to suit the learners needs. Having previous knowledge of assessing and various exam boards, this will be used in preparation for any relevant exams or tests.
