Bachelor of Engineering with a Post Graduate Certificate of Secondary Education from the UK

Experience:

I am an experienced Design, Engineering and ICT teacher at secondary level. I have tutored Maths for the iGCSE and IB curriculums successfully in the past to GCSE/MYP level. I taught the British Curriculum for 4 years at one of the best grammar schools in the UK before moving to Dubai where I have gained more recent experience in the IB curriculum. As there are so many transferable skills in Design, Engineering and ICT I have experience of a variety of subject topics including Maths and Science. I am well suited to work with students to allow them to explore new technologies such as App Development, 3D printing, electronics and robotics. When tutoring I structure my lessons carefully to the students needs and have a host of resources ready to go. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions!

Approach:

I plan lessons suited to a students ability, usually based on prior data from school reports and their current progress. I am used to pushing the top student to get the highest grades. I try to use new technology where possible and connect my students to the outside world, working on real life projects for clients and competitions. I am always prepared to teach to a high level and am a very approachable teacher who values the students intrigue and facilitates their independent learning. Over the years I have collected resources which I believe to be invaluable to allow the student to progress quickly and would be very happy to share these with any tutees.
