Experience:

I am holding a BA English degree and graduated with a 1.48 average (I.0 being the highest) . I have experience teaching in the University for first year college students with main focus on subjects like Intensive English Grammar, and Business Writing. I completed the TESOL course and was awarded "Best in Demo Teaching for TESOL/TESL ". I also completed my IELTS certification with an overall band score of 7.0 here in Dubai. I have experience teaching Koreans, Chinese and Arabs as well.

Approach:

When I see the student for the first time, I do not teach immediately. I get to know the student's interests by making him /her talk while at the same time, gauging his/her ability to use the language orally. I also let them write and read as well. By doing all these I get to know what core skill should be given more focus on . The lessons I prepare for my students depends mostly on their need and what they want to achieve at the end of their study. If they wanted to focus on speaking for example, I encourage role playing, and how-to activities. letting them use the language more, with the teacher acting as a support, or as an audience. As I have observed, the best way that my students get a good grasp of my teachings is through incidental learning. Most of the time, my students are learners of English as a foreign language and they are of different age brackets and levels which mean you have to tailor your lessons according to their interests and levels so as to encourage them to learn more about the subject. Oftentimes, I would be asked to teach conversational English as it promotes regular usage of the language itself. I also like to use music with my lessons especially if I deal with children below 8. I usually teach grammar, spelling, conversational english , reading, and vocabulary.
