Qualified Primary Teacher, BA Degree in English and History

Experience:

I am a fully qualified Primary Teacher with 10 years experience. I also have a BA Degree in English Literature and History. I am experienced in both a classroom setting and also in Learning Support, tutoring students individually and in small groups. I specialized in teaching English and Maths skills. I offer a phonics intervention programme for children struggling in this area. I also offer a writers workshop to improve writing skills.

Approach:

Due to my experience in this area I am confident in teaching English and Maths skills to students from KG1 to Grade 5. I have a hands on approach in my lessons, using a variety of methods and fun resources such as learning games, various activities and appropriate worksheets. I also incorporate IT to enhance the lesson and to ensure the children are engaged. I use a variety of assessment techniques in order to see if the students are improving and reaching their targets.
