Experience:

I have been a teacher for more than twenty-five years having gained my Bachelor's and my Post Graduate Teaching qualifications at St.Martin's College in the UK. I have been very fortunate to have worked with some inspirational children and young people. I am a relentlessly positive problem solver and I truly believe that everybody can improve their performance and increase progress given the right kind of support. I have a particular specialism for helping students in preparation for GCSEs especially in History, Geography, English, Business Studies and Psychology. I have experience of supporting students in the British, American and IB curriculums. I have taught people of all ages and all abilities including those with additional needs.

Approach:

In my approach I try to strike a balance by working with the student to formulate a learning plan with clear outcomes and a time frame for achieving targets along with an informal approach to the lessons themselves. I find that students make much more progress when they are relaxed and comfortable and so I value building a constructive working relationship based on mutual respect and trust.
