Experience:

I have tutored students in the UK and recently relocated to Dubai in 2014. Primary -English, Reading, Spelling, Maths and 11+ preparation. Secondary and University-British and American curriculum. At GCSE level -Maths and English. At A level -Mathematics, Economics & English Literature. All students have achieved either A* or A grades at A level. In the American system,AP exams- In Calculus AB and Economics. They have all achieved either a 5 or 4 in these exams.

Approach:

At secondary and university level, I firstly make each student complete mock tests on the relevant subject to understand their level of understanding. I move forward to address these particular areas as well as tutoring the topics being learnt at school each week. I believe this allows the student to solidify their knowledge of the subject at the same time as they are being taught at school. I provide the students with regular mock tests on a weekly basis and track their progress so that problem areas can be identified at an early stage. At primary level, my approach is to instill confidence in tutees, which I believe plays a vital role in the learning process. I always ensure to tailor study plans to each student. I use worksheets, my own materials and books and the child's materials from school. I believe all these tools used together helps the child understand each topic fully and clearly.
