BA Hons Primary Education with QTS and MSc Psychology

Experience:

I am UK Qualified Primary School Teacher (BA with QTS) with a Masters in Psychology (Msc). I have been tutoring and working in Dubai for the past 8 years, I tutor children aged from FS2 - Year 6. I have supported my tutees in Maths, English (Reading, Grammar and Writing), Science, Theme and Phonics. I provide SAT, GL and SPaG exam preparation and I have up to date training to teach Read Write Inc, Jolly Phonics and Letters and Sounds to KS1 children. I use current schemes of work including White Rose, The Write Stuff aswell as my own personlised lesson plans with over 10 years experience.  My teaching approach is creative, engaging and inspiring. I believe that success is not an accident it's hard work, perserverence and most of all it is loving what you are doing or learning to do. I hope to work with you and your child to help your child feel secure and successful in and out of school. 

Approach:

I would describe my tutoring approach as highly adaptable. I do not really prefer one teaching method, or one way of interacting with the students because in my opinion, each child is unique and each has their own personlised learning journey. I adapt my lesson plans and approaches to fit the individual using my 11 years of teaching experience. In order for children to thrive and succeed academically as well as personally they need to feel present and purpose, therefore I use my background in psychology to ensure all my tutees feel happy and heard during our lessons. I like to use the outdoors when teaching and enjoy teaching lessons outside in bright, light areas. I simply prefer an individual approach to teaching, and I alternate between being an authority, demonstrator, facilitator, delegator and mentor.
