Experience:

UAE: While working in Abu Dhabi, I tutored 3 ESL students with a focus on English lanuguage learning (reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary retention, and comprenhension.) In Dubai, I've worked with students from JPS and Dubai American Academy (so I am familiar with both British and American curricula). While working with these students, I worked to keep them ahead of grade level and well-prepared for the CATS placement testing.  USA: I tutored students, grades 3-7 in English and Math. Students increased overall GPA by 15-20% a term. I also worked as a Title I Tutor in a low-income school. I would assist small groups of underachieving students to reach grade level objectives.

Approach:

After an initial consultation with your child, I will determine his or her learning style through a short evaluation and observations. I will then create a tailored plan to meet his or her needs using a number of strategies. I will also remain in contact with your child's classroom teacher to monitor progress. I use a number of motivational, researched-based methods for individual instruction.
