Master of Arts in English as a Second Language; BA French & Art History

Experience:

I have been tutoring ESL, IELTS, TOEFL and French since 2003 in the USA, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. I have also tutored in Philisophy, Art History, Fine Arts and Italian. My students have ranged from 2 years old to 60 years old. 

Approach:

I present the material to the learner in the way that is most engaging and interesting to them; likewise, I gear the subject matter closest to their learning style and needs. For instance, using related media and visual resources from the internet or other publications to expand on the topic. I increase the flow of learning by motivating the student through positive affirmations and praise. Saying positive affirmations together is a technique from Neuro-linguistic Programming which facilitates the ease of learning a difficult subject. Praise is additionally important as a troubled student might not be able to see their incremental progress on the whole as I would. As a tutor, I make learning enthusiastic, fun and stress-free. I create life-long learners who are passionate about learning anything!
