Experience:

I earned my MA in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. I'm also an IELTS examiner. I currently prepare students for the IELTS exam, and my main focus in on writing: students write both a statistics-based report and a separate personal essay. In essays, I encourage students to jot down as many ideas as they can think of pertaining to the topic at hand. Then, I show them how best to use these ideas (which to keep and which to discard). Next, I teach them how to write their first draft. Finally, I highlight the importance of proofreading. I have 20+ years of experience, and I have taught English in multicultural classes. Almost all of my students score between bands 5.5 and 7 in the IELTS writing component. I’m available late afternoons and some weekends.
