Experience:

I have had two years tutoring experience. During this time I worked with a child learning English as a second language and helped bring them from the Entry Stage to Emergent Stage of English Language learning. I also tutored a boy with General Learning Difficulties improve his reading and writing skills which allowed him to grow in confidence. This child also found new mathematical concepts introduced in school to be quite challenging and required extra assistance on a one-to-one basis.

Approach:

I understand that each child is unique and have different learning styles. For this reason I meet with a child and assess what level they are at. I also get them to come up with some personal targets for what they want to achieve. This information can then be used to create a plan with weekly goals in order to show progress. As a young teacher with enthusiasm and optimism I believe I can encourage any child with their learning.
