I was largely self-taught in biology because my biology teacher at school didn’t effectively teach me the subject. Vanessa's tutoring was incredibly helpful during this time. In school, I would just take notes in class, which often led to poor marks on the mock exams. Vanessa started by having me fill out a questionnaire to assess my situation and identify areas for improvement. She asked me what I wanted to work on for each session, which I found really helpful. At school, we were constantly behind schedule, and with finals approaching, I didn’t even have enough time to review all the information in Higher Level (HL) biology. Out of all of my tutors for IB, Vanessa was by far my favourite! I loved out tutor sessions because it was a mix of academics and fun.
