It consists of 7 ayah which are a prayer for guidance and mercy. Al-Fatiha is recited in Muslim obligatory and voluntary prayers, known as salah. in fact, no prayer is valid without the recitation of this surah of the Holy Qur'an. It IS one of the very earliest Revelations to the Holy Prophet. Al-Fatiha was the first complete Surah revealed to Muhammad (SAW). The name Al-Fatiha English name the opening. Al-Fatiha is also known by several other names, such as Al-Hamd (The Praise), As- Salah (The Prayer), Umm al-Kitab (Mother of. the Book), .Umm al- Repeated Ones, from Quran and Ash-Shifa' (The Cure).
