  1. Layers of Epidermis from deep layers to superficial layers: 1: Stratum Basale "stratum germinativum" It is the deepest epidermal layer. It attaches the Epidermis tissue to the Basal lamina so stratum Basale is the base for the Epidermis tissue. Below the Basal lamina there will be the layers of Dermis of skin. The stratum Basal is attached to the Dermis through collagen fibers which is called Basement membrane.
  2. Stratum basale is composed primarily of basal cells which is considered as the stem cells and the precursor of making the keratinocytes of the Epidermis. There are also other two types of cells found dispersed among the basal cells in the Stratum basale layer which are called : I: Merkel cell 2: Melanocytes First we are going to talk about the function of Merkel cell : It functions as a receptor and is responsible for stimulating sensory nerves that the brain perceives as touch.
  3. Second we are going to talk about the function of Melanocytes : It is responsible for producing the Melanin pigment that is responsible for the color of our hair and skin and also it protects the Epidermis layer from the harmful effect of the Ultra violet radiation. I am going to continue the details in the next notes O See you!
