  1. Thyroid Gland What is the shape of thyroid gland and where is it located into our bodies?? It looks like the butterfly shape and is located at the bottom of the front of the neck under the larynx "the voice box". It has two lobes connected by a part called isthmus in the middle. It weighs between 20 and 60 grams on average.
  2. What are Thyroid gland hormones ?? Generally we can say they are three hormones : Triiodothyronine ( T3) & Thyroxine (T4) hormones : These two hormones are proper thyroid gland hormones that are made in the follicular epithelial cells of Thyroid gland. Calcitonin hormone: which is made by the parafollicular cells" C-cells o" of thyroid gland .

What is the function of the thyroid gland into our bodies?? 1: It takes Iodine from our food and convert it to T3 & T4 hormones. 2: It regulate many vital processes inside the body like : a) b) c) d) e) Metabolism Heart rate Breathing Cholesterol levels Calcium levels and bone metabolism regulated by Calcitonin.
