I've been learning Mandarin with Tracy for a year and have found her to be competent, responsible and dedicated. My situation is a little different from the average Mandarin student as I can converse at a basic level but am fairly illiterate, Tracy was able to amend her syllabus to help me build a strong foundation. And while she is a very strict teacher - emphasising on the precise hanyu pinyin for example- lessons with her are truly enjoyable.

Tracy Lao shi is a very honest person. There is no doubt that she is a skilled teacher but she is also a geniun teacher who really cares about her student. For me she is not only a teacher who teaches Mandarin, in addition to that, she also taught me lots of thing related to the life and how to Overcome difficulties in our life. She listened to our issues when needed and try to get us from that depression vibes. She really did change my life in many aspects. For her teaching skills, she is the best from who I met till now. She really focuses on the student till he/she got the point. She will never move to the next part unless u understood. I am so blessed to know her in my life. She added lots of value to my life professionally and academically. So happy and blessed to learn from you. I really recommend her for any one who wants to learn Mandarin. I have been taking Chinese lessons with Tracy since February 2020. Initially, these were in person, at her house, but we have since transitioned to entirely remote learning due to the pandemic: a transition that was seamless and that Tracy has taken great effort to ensure was uninterrupted and retains a high quality of learning. I spent quite a bit of time looking for a Chinese teacher when I came to Abu Dhabi, and I couldn't be happier that I decided to go with Tracy. Coming from a Chinese background, but having lived in the west for a long period, Tracy is very well placed to teach Chinese with a deep understanding of both cultures - something she leverages extremely well, making mapping between the two cultures when learning a much simpler process. During lessons, we follow the Easy Steps to Chinese book series as a guide, however Tracy works hard to produce personalised lesson plans that add much more colour and context to just the material in the book. I've always found that her plans are well tailored to my learning style and go into additional detail where I need it - often pre-empting my questions! I particularly like her style of teaching: we learn Chinese in a laid back and comfortable atmosphere. That is not to say that the pace is needlessly slow; quite the opposite in fact: Tracy pushes me to maximise my abilities. We have fun in lessons, making sure to enjoy the process. Tracy doesn't ever shy away from complex questions, and will always come prepared to a following lesson if ever she's unsatisfied with an answer she gives. When struggling with something, she is patient and will always take the time to ensure that it becomes well understood, rather than just skimming over it. In all, I feel I've been very lucky to find Tracy. I am looking to continue my lessons for the foreseeable future, as I've not once stopped enjoying the language learning while working with her. I feel pushed, supported, and have remained engaged under her tuition. Choosing Tracy as your Chinese teacher would be making an excellent choice for your future language learning progress!

I have been with Tracy for about 2 years now. If you're seriously considering exploring China's culture and learning Mandarin, I would highly recommend that you pick Tracy as the guide for your journey. There are few whom I would describe to be willing to go above and beyond for you education, she is definitely one of them. Learning a new language is a difficult and sometimes frustrating experience, nevertheless there was never a time I felt short of support and guidance. Her proficient knowledge of both Mandarin and English helped clear any misconceptions I had. I started learning Mandarin two years ago out of interest, but it now grew to be my favorite pastime thanks to her.

I really like that she is very passionate when she teaches, and always has a fun and educational lesson planned! She is very patient, and always explains things thoroughly, and if I still don't understand, she is willing to clarify. She speaks both English and Chinese fluently. I would highly recommend her to all ages, because she can cater her lessons any way you want. I have been taking her lessons for a bit over 2 years now, and I now can read, write, speak and understand Chinese quite well, and have enjoyed all of her classes. She is helping me pursue my dream of going to China as an exchange student, and now, that dream is becoming reality.

Teaching was tailored and paced to suit my learning ability and interests. Tracy was able to make the learning material fun and engaging rather than a chore. In addition to learning vocabulary and the mechanics of the Chinese language, I learned practical cultural aspects that help greatly when interacting with Chinese in social or business environments. In addition, Tracy has very good spoken English skills which helped with the learning process. I highly recommend her, if you are interested in learning Chinese.
