Famous for being one of the oldest languages in the world, Farsi is known for its beautiful poetry and literature. The language is also known as Persian and is commonly spoken in Iran. Afghanistan’s Dari and Tajikistan’s Tajik languages are dialects of Persian and completely intelligible if you know Persian. In the past, it was widely understood in an area ranging from the Middle East to the Indian subcontinent, but now it is spoken only in small pockets of these countries.
