CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) is an objective measure of an individual’s professionalism and competency in the internal auditing field. It is a globally recognised qualification designated by the IIAA (Institute of Internal Auditors). This qualification can be acquired after successfully passing three CIA exams, each of which focuses on different crucial areas of internal auditing.
In order to become a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) or have a qualification equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college-level institution. This could be membership of any professional accounting body, such as ICAI, ICAP or ACCA. Pass all levels of the CIA examination.
