Since project management offices began to appear in organizations over the last decade, project management practitioners and their organizations have been asking how to structure project management offices (PMOs) and what functions to assign them. This course addresses how to assess the need, design, implementation, and management of a Project Management Office (PMO) within your organization. You shall assess the strengths of running a successful PMO and learn how to establish a PMO which is appropriately positioned and aligned within the organization. You will explore the various types of PMOs and the various functions and tasks that they undertake, and you will have the opportunity to find out why PMOs might perform below expectations, as well as learn how to improve the PMO performance.
