Course Details

This workshop is designed for use with team leaders and junior managers and is intended to enable participants to identify what make a high performance team and what they can be doing as managers to support that high performance. Exercises will focus on the following areas:

• How write SMART objectives.
• Importance of setting objectives for teams at workplace.
• Benefits and possible barriers in setting objectives.
• Characteristics and differences between constructive feedback, praise and criticism.
• Importance of constructive feedback.
• Guidelines for providing constructive feedback.
• Develop participants ability in giving constructive feedback.
• Consider how it feels to be on receiving end of destructive or unhelpful feedback.
• Role of communication in team performance and types of communication.
• Importance of breaking complex messages into key points.
• How to deal with poor performance.
• Define timescales for various activities in team.
• Impact of not taking action on poor performance.
• Action Plan*.
• Review of the day.
