I was largely self-taught in biology because my biology teacher at school didn’t effectively teach me the subject. Vanessa's tutoring was incredibly helpful during this time. In school, I would just take notes in class, which often led to poor marks on the mock exams. Vanessa started by having me fill out a questionnaire to assess my situation and identify areas for improvement. She asked me what I wanted to work on for each session, which I found really helpful. At school, we were constantly behind schedule, and with finals approaching, I didn’t even have enough time to review all the information in Higher Level (HL) biology. Vanessa was always well-prepared for our sessions, which allowed me to learn content in just two hours—something that would have taken three weeks to cover in school. She had an excellent teaching approach that helped me grasp and retain a lot of material efficiently. Vanessa also assisted me in preparing for my exams. At school, we never completed Practice Paper 3, but Vanessa made sure I was ready. After I completed Practice Paper 3, she would carefully review the marking scheme to evaluate what I had included and what was still needed to achieve full marks. She used the same method for Paper 2 as well. Ultimately, hiring Vanessa as my tutor was the best decision I made. Thanks to her, I was able to achieve the grade I needed to get into university. I’m not sure I would have passed without her help. She is an amazing tutor, and our sessions were always enjoyable." She's an excellent tutor who is always punctual, rarely being late, and even then, only by 1-4 minutes at most. I’ve learned a lot from her because she truly knows her subject and is passionate about it—qualities that I feel many others lack. Her teaching is engaging, though I’ll admit that my strong desire to learn plays a big part in making the experience enjoyable. If you're eager to expand your knowledge and become highly skilled, I strongly recommend her. Even for casual learners, she’s a great choice, but I especially recommend her to those with a genuine passion for learning.

Out of all of my tutors for IB, Vanessa was by far my favourite! I loved out tutor sessions because it was a mix of academics and fun. Vanessa always ensured that the topics we discussed related to everyday life and funny experiences. I would always look forward to the sessions, because it felt less like a lesson and more of a fun conversation which is what led me to remember all the content during the exam.
