Her professional attitude and empathy to students regardless of age. She showed great patience with our teenage son and was always well prepared when the lesson started. She is one of the few who is familiar with all the different kind of exams possible, gave us advice as to which violin to choose and helped when the instrument was not in balance. She has a sense for technical play as well as how to put the right emotions into the students playing, using always a very personal/individual approach tailored to the situation.

Alex is just such a wonderful tutor and with excellent knowledge. I would highly recommend her to anyone who would want to learn the violin or the piano. I personally go to her to learn how to play the violin and my son (6 years old) takes piano lessons. She is FANTASTIC with kids... She somehow manages to get through to my son and gets him to listen and understand even music theory. My son has been to 2 other piano tutors and he has picked up more from Alex in 2 months than he has in more than 6 months with the other tutors. And she is just as well versed with the violin. She has in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge and helped me progress.

Having requested for a tutor in Russian language on myprivatetutor.ae, Sonja contacted me and I started my classes in July. As I am a beginner in Russian, Sonja understood the learning needs and took a systematic approach. I received printed material and books in the first class. Sonja has an excellent knowledge of Russian language specially the grammar and she explains the lessons in depth. She knows English and that makes the translations easier to discuss and understand. She taught me for 2 years in Warsan and she understood me and my doubts very well. She always focused on understanding of the topic and I like that about her. She was always very kind and gave me extra time when I needed it. If I was late, she would still try to give me a full hour even though she had other batches.
