Thanks to Stephen, Sciences are finally making some sense and are actually enjoyable for my son ! After multiple unsuccessful interviews with local tutors, we were lucky enough to come across Stephen and honestly he doesn't disappoint. My son had an immediate liking to Stephen and his personality, and directly after the initial interview/meeting we knew he was the man for us to assist our son in his study and preparation for the upcoming exams. After the first lesson, being an initial discussion and review with my son of his current knowledge, Stephen was able to better understand the weaker topics vs those he had more strength in knowledge on and commenced with the weaker core topics first. He reviewed the entire exam syllabus of core topics and secondary topics, with emphasis on those core topics and moving onto the secondary. Stephen moves through onto the next topic, only once my son has a good grasp of the current topic being learnt. Over the past lessons with Stephen, it has become very clear what a huge learning gap there is for us between a classroom teaching style vs a one on one private lesson, and I only wish that we had have sourced him sooner. Although a 2-hour lesson appeared daunting at the time, Stephen has managed to keep my son fully engaged for each of the lessons, regardless of the topic. After each lesson my son is given exam based homework, which reiterates the topics and subject matters covered within the lesson, to be completed prior to the following lesson. The homework is marked and then discussed during the next scheduled lesson, in such a way that he encourages my son to answer and think without just simply providing him the answers. They review the hits and misses and discuss any misunderstandings from each question. Reinforcing the previous works learning, has really assisted with my sons retained knowledge, having that repeat-repeat type of method has been of great benefit. Stephen updates me with my sons progress after every single lesson in a detailed manner, either online or through mail. His knowledge, his passion and his delivery to my son’s lessons and homework has surpassed my expectation. The commitment, support and persistence of Stephen hasn’t faulted over the many lessons already completed. Nor has never judged my son for the level (grade) at which he is currently achieving, he only encourages him more to strive and to achieve in a positive manner, as if my son was his only student and his only focus. Overall, regardless of the outcome of the exams, the additional knowledge and confidence that Stephen has instilled in my son heading into the iGCSE exams, has had such a positive effect, it is invaluable. One of the best, if not the best tutor I have been taught by in Dubai. Incredibly patient and smiley, and makes sure every idea is crystal clear before he moves on to the next topic. He amazingly taught me two foreign universities modules I have never done before in no time. I really enjoyed my lessons with him. I would definitely recommend him, he's really the best!
